Joshua Saunders (b. 1981) is a hoarder and gatherer of the highest order. He spends many days sifting through the books and papers section of the Blue Hanger and various other trash bins/stores, searching for the pornographic drawings, decades-old advertisements, thrown-away documents and other pieces of disposable Americana that make up the bulk of his collages. His art occasionally incorporates juxtaposition, but more often relies on an interplay between the various parts that isn't quite so obvious, but attempts to put a twist on an idea of America that may not have ever existed. And he can fuck for a really long time.
